Behavioural Methods

Other than physical means of preventing fertilization from happening, behavioral methods still count. Effectiveness of these practices stems from having no sexual contact at all, such as in abstinence, or from being fully aware of the times of fertility among women.

Abstinence method

Still, like any kind of contraceptive method, the risk of getting sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and getting pregnant are still present. Perhaps, abstinence is the most effective way in preventing pregnancy and spread of infection. It is known to have a 100% effectiveness rate. However, using other birth control options would be more advantageous especially when combined with other forms of barrier or hormonal methods.
